“My 4 year old and 2 year old girls love this book! They requested this book as bedtime reading over and over again. The phrases are conversational, pictures are cute and the words are relatable… It’s great for me (even though I am a Canto speaker) to check my pronunciation of certain words and making sure that I have taught my daughter right.” (Amazon review)

“This is my third book from the collection and like the other books has been great! The layout is really user-friendly and my daughter loves the bright, colourful text and pictures. As she is quite young the pictures really help her with learning. The content really focuses on common and daily conversations which I really like. Would highly recommend this book and the whole series.” (Amazon review)

This is the second book I have from Little Canto Learning. I was really impressed with the first one I got on animals and this book on food did not disappoint me. Like the other book, this one is well thought out with appealing layout and pictures… also sometimes see my 4 year old daughter walk around with this book and practising her Cantonese using the pictures as prompts, which is a reflection on how engaging, fun and appealing the book is. I highly recommend these books and looking forward for more topics to be published.” (Amazon review)

“As an ABC who can speak conversational Cantonese, I want to pass what I can to my kid. It’s hard to find books for this since I can barely read Chinese, and some stories are written differently from how it’s spoken, which is confusing for me. I have two books from this series, and they’re my favorite Cantonese vocabulary books so far! It has really useful words, phrases to use with those words, English and romanization of the Chinese words, and great explanation on certain words regarding how it’s used or other ways of saying it. I really like how concise yet thorough it is.” (Amazon review)

Cantonese Storybooks

My grandma doesn’t spin me around like Daddy or play hide-and-seek with me like Mummy. Instead, my grandma tells me amazing stories, we grow flowers in the garden… and we make dumplings together! This book celebrates the special relationship between a grandma and her grandchild.

“The story captures the beautiful bond between the girl and her grandmother with the descriptions of the quality time they spend together. The author also weaves an empowering message of the importance of trying and never giving up.” (Cantonese for families)

This is the perfect book for anyone who has ever been annoyed by a younger sister or brother. Told with humour and wonderfully stylish artwork, this book will help to introduce or consolidate spoken Cantonese in the family.

“We bought the book to help our older daughter see through some of the annoyances she’s been going through with her younger sister – and this book was perfect in every way! The sharing problems, perceived injustices, destruction.. were all things that she could relate to and the story has been such a great reminder to her that despite all that, it’s terrific having a little sister.” (Amazon review)
